Weekly Photo Challenge #23

Photo Challenge #23
http://weeklyphotographychallenge.blogspot.com/2009/07/photo-challenge-23.html

This week, we had a photo challenge of stripes! I know Emily loves that idea, and I hope she's able to put in hers, but since she's in Colorado, I'm not sure if she's doing it or not. But I am, and though it says to not make it obvious, mine aren't terribly discrete. But I had fun doing this one as well, I hope you enjoy!

  1. Hey Josh. Sorry I haven't been as acting in commenting since you have joined. But im glad that you are here!!! I like on number five how you focused this shot. I also love the colored reflections in it. 4, The Piano strings makes for a very interesting photo. I like the angles you achieved. Wish that there was one part of it super in focus though. I love how you captured the bluish tones of the barn board in 2. I also like the choice of keeping the plant in the frame. Good job overall. I like the wood theme. Very nice. can't wait to see more from you.

  2. Hey Josh! I can't decide between #4 and #5 for my favorite. I like the colorful reflections in #5, and the piano wires are just really cool looking in #4. Although, I think #4 would be my clear favorite if that worn spot behind the wires was not there. It gives character, but to me it is kind of distracting. The third one is my least favorite...there's just not much to it.

  3. Hello Josh. I totally love these! They are the same but different! Although I do feel like #4 is a bit out of place..perhaps if you had included in the series something else that was similar. You go from all wood photos to one that isn't.

I had to look at the first photo for a while before I realized that the funny shape in the background was actually a cat! I love that in photos 1,2,5 you give us little clues as to what you are photographing. I agree with Katie that #3 is sort of bland. leaving little clues in the other photos was a very strong choice. Compositionally # 3 is pretty weak too there isn't much of interest in the image.

I have to say that #2, with the bit of plant, is my favorite!

Great job again this week josh!
