All in a Day's Work

Today at FedEx, I was complimented several times by my manager about the walls of boxes I was stacking. One such compliment was, "You build better walls than most people that have been here for a year!" I was quite glad, and almost proud, until I thought of the working quality of those who had to be there for a year, and I was no longer impressed with myself.

My Sophisticated Adult Day Chronicled Through Pictures

http://weeklyphotographychallenge.blogspot.com/2009/07/challenge-24.html

Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to face the challenges of the day.

Trying in advance to overcome the stress of being an adult.

Riding to work, trying to beat traffic.

Financial planning, trying to ensure the monetary well-being of my future and that of my family by making sure I save a large portion of the money I make during the pay period.

Clearing my head of mental anguish, rebooting to survive the rest of the day.

Contemplating life.

Keeping in mind my slowing metabolism, I refuel while trying to stay healthy, and most importantly trying to stay regular.

I journal of my day's excitement and the great feats I accomplished before hitting the hay.

Believe it or not, this isn't too far off what I do on a regular basis. Since I only work about twice a week right now, I usually sleep til about noon, roll out of bed, and don't really do anything. Sorry for having so many pictures, but with as busy of a schedule as I have, it's hard to narrow it down even to the 8 pictures I used :-p. I was thinking about putting a picture of me shaving, but that is incredibly unrealistic, because I only do that about once a week. But yes, this was my Tuesday. And will likely be my Wednesday as well. Yeah.

Weekly Photo Challenge #23

Photo Challenge #23
http://weeklyphotographychallenge.blogspot.com/2009/07/photo-challenge-23.html

This week, we had a photo challenge of stripes! I know Emily loves that idea, and I hope she's able to put in hers, but since she's in Colorado, I'm not sure if she's doing it or not. But I am, and though it says to not make it obvious, mine aren't terribly discrete. But I had fun doing this one as well, I hope you enjoy!

Baseball update! Also, my day. And my last weekend. And work.

Hello, all! I like saying it like that because even though there are probably only a couple people reading this, it sounds like it could be dozens or hundreds or even more!
So, this past weekend was awesome. I was the only person I saw watching fireworks with a Happy St. Patrick's Day shirt on. Prior to that, however, I had quite a fun time, especially with my brother-in-law Jon. We had a slam dunk contest on a 9-foot hoop. By saying that, I actually mean, I dunked a bunch, and he started to, but decided not to break a sweat so he stopped trying. After that, we played a made-up game on a huge trampoline at my cousins' house. I felt like a small child, because I was enjoying myself so much doing such a simple thing! Then we played frisbee, awesome day.
After fireworks, which were very beautiful, loud, bright, exciting, in a word: fireworky, my sister Em and my parents and I went back to my cousins' to have a fire, and we took some pretty sweet pictures, which I will hopefully put up as soon as my dad puts them online. We set his camera to a 20-second exposure, and used sparklers to draw designs in the air, and some of them turned out pretty neat.
Anywho, Sunday I went to another wedding, and got to sing and dance, and we listened to too many Michael Jackson songs. Such is life.
I probably shouldn't have gone, because I got such a terrible sore throat last weekend when I went to a wedding from singing so loudly that I was kinda sick all week, and I knew I'd feel even worse. So I couldn't really fall asleep last night, til like 2, and then I woke up at 5 coughing, couldn't fall back asleep til 6:30, then had to wake up at 7 to go to work. And the boxes were equally as disinteresting as they were last week. But I came back this afternoon and had a lovely nap for about 40 minutes before I went to my baseball game.
Which brings me to the main reason I'm writing this particular blog--that I am not busy at all. True, because I'm all alone and not yet tired, but the real reason is that I just had a baseball game tonight that went quite well. I pitched 7 innings, struck out 9, and gave up 4 runs, and also batted 3-3 and 2 walks and I had 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. We ended up winning 14-8, woot!
I have now run out of things to say.
Until next time,
-Josh
